"Jomala"는 많은 Finno-Ugric 사람들에게 공통적인 신의 이름입니다.

Jumala는 신을 위한 핀란드어이며 Jomala는 핀란드에서 기독교 교회가 조직된 곳 중 하나입니다. 
핀란드에서 가장 오래된 교회 중 하나가 이 시대의 유언으로 여기에 서 있습니다.

Jomala는 가장 유명한 선사시대 유적지 중 하나인 Jettböle로 2000 년 경에 거주했습니다. 
다른 고대 사이트로는 Viking 요새가 있는 Borgberget과
적이 접근할 때 신호불이 켜진 산 중 하나인 Kasberget이 있습니다.
